Early Labor?

Okay...I normally do a post when I have pictures to show you all, but you will just have to wait until my next post for more! I just wanted to give you all an update...

So I woke up this morning at 2am having contractions that were 7-8 minutes apart. They seemed to stay pretty consistent throughout the morning, so I went to see my doctor. They strapped me up to a monitor and I was definitely having some contractions...some as close as 5 minutes, but others still 7-8 minutes apart. Sure enough, my doctor says that I am in the "early labor stage"! OMG. She said that it could be days or even weeks until the little guy makes his debut though...it is all unknown! How frustrating.

It's crazy! I had a feeling he might arrive early, but not this early! However, my doctor did reassure me that although we are still 4 1/2 weeks until my due date, it would be completely safe to deliver the baby now and that it is not necessary to stop labor in any way. We are now in wait mode. In the meantime, I am trying to keep myself occupied rather than become obsessed with timing my contractions...which has been difficult! Any ideas experienced laboring moms out there?

Needless to say, I think this baby is coming before his due date. Tomorrow or two weeks from now...who knows! Stay tuned for more updates...
